03 Mar Dr. Zhao-Shaoqin 100th Birthday
December 13th, 2018 is my teacher, Dr. Zhao-Shaoqin’s, 100th birthday.
I attended the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 1980 and fortunately became a student of Dr. Zhao-shaoqin in 1985, for three years. In December 2018, my university held the commemorative meeting to celebrate Dr. Zhao-Shaoqin’s life as a great doctor and educator, and to inherit his spirit of Traditional Chinese Medicine master.
I am very proud to be his student and to have a role model like him for life.
Zhao Shaoqin (1918-2001)
Was born in Beijing, a family of three generations of imperial physicians. He studied medicine under his father who was renowned imperial doctor in late Qin dynasty. In 1934, he began his medical practice in Beijing. In 1956, he started teaching medicine, was one of the founding members of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Since then, he dedicated his life to medical education, Chinese medicine development and clinical practice, became nationally and internationally known Chinese medicine expert in modern time, the icon of Chinese medicine febrile disease (TCM specialty).
